It's been a painful journey for Stainless, retrieving the rights to their most notorious IP, but Carmageddon is coming back and, after ploughing a few hundred grand into the project to get it set up, Stainless have turned to crowdfunding to get Carmageddon: Reincarnation made.
As someone who heartily enjoyed setting fire to sheep, rampaging through the countryside with my Electro Bastard Death Ray, hitting sweet jumps and performing cunning stunts, and beating the crap out of my fellow racers, I'm pretty excited about this.
$15 will net you a Steam copy of the game when it releases, with further pledges gifting extra copies of the game, posters, figurines, in-game rewards, and the chance to design your own race track for the game.
There's even an amusingly budget announcement video with a lovely cameo from Tim Schafer (sort of), and a reminder that LucasArts are still mad not to have re-released Grim Fandango.
Carmageddon: Reincarnation has a goal of $400,000 and, with 28 days still left to go, it's currently nearing a quarter of that total. You can join the incredibly gory, petrol-soaked party here.
