CCP Offering Discounts To Returning EVE Online Players

CCP's abject mishandling of the Vanity Items situation caused numerous veteran fans to quit in disgusted protest - partly due to the astonishing price of some of the upgrades as well as the 'Greed Is Good' internal memo that likened EVE players to exploitable cash cows. However, the innovative MMO is back on track, and is attempting to lure back some of its departed player base with a discounted 30 days subscription. Note that only existing players with lapsed accounts are legible for the deal.

All is forgiven. It's time to look to the future, and more specifically, towards tie-in shooter Dust 514 that promises to be the "biggest multiplayer FPS." [Massively]

Dust 514 disappointed most EVE players by being PS3 only.

Dust514 disappointed Eve players because they weren't going to be allowed to scam the crap out of the Dust 514 players.
The long term player base was getting disheartened by the failure to properly carry through on any game enhancements or expansions by CCP dev team.
They lost touch with core player base, even with a player delegation (CSM).
The fact that the CEO had to publish the following, let's us know how successful the player protests were.

The maximum player counts have descended to equivalent to the player base 3 years ago.

I love Eve and I just re-subbed to see what's happening. I hope they will fix things so I can happily play it for another 5+ years
