Challenge Carl | Submit your suggestions here! - 19/05/14

Carl Phillips
Challenge Carl

The first installment of Challenge Carl went live last Friday, and if you have yet to see if I was able to climb to the heights of success in Titanfall using a joystick as my only input method then you can watch it via the embed above. I had some laughs, had some moments of sheer frustration, but it was a fun and exciting inaugural episode of our new series.

Again, many thanks to Teppic2000 for the suggestion, but for now I reign 1-0! #BOOM (as the kids say.)

During the latest Game Buzz, Jon unleashed my challenge for this week, and let's just say that it's rather devilish - my task is to play Broforce and, without any other collateral damage, only kill the Devil boss at the end of the first 3 stages.

To say I have my work cut out for me would be an understatement, but the challenge has been accepted and I will show you how I got on when it goes live on Friday. In the meantime, we're looking for more suggestions for next week's episode and so we're inviting you to submit different ways of making me suffer in a virtual environment. Don't worry - any suggestions we've already had are in the bank, but we're still looking for more, such as Zeipher's recent suggestion to "play 'The Floor is lava' with Just Cause 2 - Get from one side of the island to the other without touching the ground."

What I'm trying to say is... do you think you can come up with an idea to push my gaming skills to their limit? Do your worst, meatbags.

Complete Dark Souls while performing a one man band rendition of Soul Collecting Montage. Kazoo solo optional but highly encouraged

Oh, another one... If you have Kerbal Space program.

Crash land a Kerbal on the moon. Then with another rocket... save the first Kerbal, and bring 'em home!

I did post these elsewhere, but wasn't sure if they got picked up:

Streets of Rage 2, Mania difficulty, with no continues. You may start with 9 lives.
Super Mario Bros. in under five minutes. Good luck with the wall-jump.:)

@SJH: That's not a challenge - that's A WAY OF LIFE.

@Zeipher: I still haven't picked up KSP, but I'd be tempted to just to attempt that one!

@Quietus: We've definitely put your suggestions into the mix, so don't worry :)

WHAT!?!?! GET IT!!! It's £11.99 on the Humble Store atm. Brilliant game. I've put in almost 200 hours I'm not afraid to say!

If you haven't played it before, then the mission I suggested will take waaaaay too long. Maybe just 'land safely on the moon' then. Just promise me you'll have dramatic music for that touchdown X)
