Chronicles of Riddick: Assault On Dark Athena £17.99 @ Play.Com [PS3 Game]

Tired of out-in-the-open, sun-baked shooters? Looking for a more shadowy, corridor-based affair? Then why not pick up Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena for only £17.99 at Play.com! The offer is exclusive to the PS3 version of the game.

According to a price-comparison, this is the cheapest available deal for Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, and delivery is free from Play, too! Since its April release, the game has averaged 81/100 on MetaCritic, although the score is somewhat deceptive when you consider how much content is packed in!

Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena is a re-polished version of the Xbox game, Escape from Butcher Bay, along with another campaign expansion, the eponymous Dark Athena. It follows Richard B. Riddick, a wanted-man and skilled assassin, who'll go from prison inmate to slave-liberator over the course of the two games. As far as content goes, Assault on Dark Athena is an unmissable title, especially considering its cut-down price.

Escape from Butcher Bay was a classic on the original Xbox, melding stealth-gameplay with a sandbox enviroment, pitting Riddick against inmates and guards alike, as he searches for a way out of the titular prison, gaining his trademark eye-shine ability along the way.

Assault on Dark Athena is more of a long-winded expansion than a full-blown sequel, fine-tuning the engine and mechanics, but ultimately falling into the same pit-holes. The setting is less compelling than Butcher Bay's prison, but the experience is nonetheless thrilling and pure, unadulterated Riddick!
