Lords Of The Fallen Dated For 2014
CI Games (formerly known as City Interactive) have bagged themselves a next-generation RPG, helmed by one of The Witcher 2's key personnel. Lords Of The Fallen promises a "demanding and strategic" experience when it releases next year on PC, PS4 and whatever Microsoft plans to announce next Tuesday.
Lords Of The Fallen casts players as the heroic Harkyn, who sets out to defeat a supernatural evil force in a world failed by the Gods. As far as deities go, the Fallen God has divided the fantasy setting into two distinct factions (those who oppose and support it), hopefully resulting in a fertile canvas for a divergent storyline that players can deeply affect. Expect tactical real-time combat and "robust class skill trees."
“Our team is building Lords of the Fallen specifically for players who enjoy taking on huge challenges, where the odds are stacked against them,” said Tomasz Gop, executive producer, CI Games. “From the very beginning, Lords of the Fallen will intrigue and satisfy players’ hunger to explore each corner of a brand new world, freely customize and build their own character and take down some of the most epic enemies ever seen.”
It's great to see City Interactive showing some ambition beyond shockingly mediocre shooters (see also: Sniper: Ghost Warrior). Hopefully the rebranded CI Games can make a new name for themselves in any sense of the phrase.
