WHSmith confirm PS3 Slim this year?

From Clearing Out PS3s to Faith on the Wii: News Roundup 30th July

Following the recent deal at WHSmiths which saw the PS3 being sold for bargain price of £200, website GhostStorm recently got into contact with WHSmith to ask why they were selling the PS3s for such a low price. WHSmith confirmed that they would no longer be selling the PS3 in their stores as they stated “We are clearing PS3s to make room for any new products that may come from Sony in the future.”

However as this answer is vague, one can suggest that as it is unlikely that WHSmith would stop selling the PS3 completely as they are continuing to sell the console online and they will continue to sell software both instore and online, a new version of the PS3 i.e. the Slim may be arriving this year and so therefore WHSmith are clearing their PS3 stock in anticipation of the PS3 Slim?
