This week: Cordy
Miffed that you never got the chance to play LittleBigPlanet? Been unimpressed by the graphical capabilities of browser based gaming to this point? Well a little title named Cordy is here to answer both of your prayers thanks to its creative use of the Unity engine.
Essentially a 3D development engine for videogaming, Unity is already making waves on handheld mobile devices, but it hasn't yet been pushed to anywhere near its full potential and certainly not when it comes to browser-based gaming. But this little platformer from Silvertree Media gives us a taste of what lies ahead. No it's not original and yes, it borrows heavily from pretty much every big name physics-based platformer out there including, and especially, LBP but dear lord it's pretty and smooth and an absolute joy to play.
Unfortunately, it's shorter than Warwick Davis' pinky finger, more of a demo than an actual game, but it bodes very well indeed and you should bust through the two or three minutes it'll take to complete the two levels just to say that you have. I'm hoping it heralds the beginning of something very special indeed!
