This week: Miami Shark
We all know who the real star of the Jaws films was...it was the shark. If you ever played a Jaws game you'd never ever want to play as the humans, you'd want to play as Ecco the Dolphin's angry neighbour and start getting your aquatic rage on. Well, Miami Shark lets you do just that. You control the fangorious fish with the arrow keys, building up enough momentum to leap from the waves and then mash Ctrl or 'A' to begin chomping on clueless seaside holidaymakers, banana boat riders, sailors, fishermen, and the odd plane or helicopter.
It's Miami Shark's simplicity that provides the easy accessibility, and the gloriously ridiculous premise and presentation that makes it such a joy to play. Essentially asking you to destroy as much of a tidal promenade as you possibly can within a limited number of miles, this is a game that revels in a lack of strategy or particular depth. You can leave your tactical nous at the door, it won't be needed here. There's a small amount of timing to be done in order to gobble up larger objects and latch onto the airborne targets, but that's about it. Instead, this is a game that simply offers a quick taste of a cartoon rampage from one of nature's coolest creatures, and you should definitely give it a go.
