Don’t like wading through pages of ‘Sale’ items only to discover that you can get half of them cheaper everywhere else? That’s where we at Dealspwn can save you the bother. Take note, these items are cheapest when reserving online and collecting in-store as Comet expensively deliver items themselves rather than use traditional mail. So you’ll need to check a nearby store is stocking it.
You can have a look at the full deal line-up here, but we’d advise looking through our selection of what’s actually a good deal. And no, Tony Hawk’s Ride for £89.99 isn’t one of them.
Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood (PS3) £4.99
Overall this is a surprisingly high quality first person shooter set in the Wild West, with a rich atmosphere with two varied playable characters and terrific weapons that are more rewarding than the automatic spray and pray weapons we might have become overly reliable on in other shooters. At seven hours for each characters playthrough it manages to consistently surprise and please with its gameplay and locations. The online modes are great fun too, especially the bank robbery matches. Finished or can’t afford the new Red Dead yet? You could do far worse than this underrated shooter for under a fiver. The next best deal is £10.89 at SendIt
Legends of Wrestlemania (PS3/360) £4.99
Remember the god old days of wrestling? Want them back? Well for under a fiver you shouldn’t miss this collection featuring loads of your old favourites, including: , Andre The Giant, Animal, Bam Bam Bigelow, Big Bossman, Bret Hart, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Honky Tonk Man, Hulk Hogan, Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart, Junkyard Dog, Koko B Ware, Mr. Perfect, Paul Bearer, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Ultimate Warrior, Undertaker, British Bulldog, Jake The Snake, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Sgt. Slaughter, Yokozuna and many more. This price saves you £2.86 on the next best deal at ShopTo.
Planet 51 (PS3) £7.99
Ok it’s a kid’s game so don’t be expecting brilliance, but it’ll keep the little nippers entertained for cheaper than taking them to the cinema to see Toy Story 3 (you tight git). This is more of a racing title than a platformer so at least it’s got a chance to be different from the usual tie-ins. You can always use it for a few cheap Trophies when the kids have got bored with it. This next best deal is £10.95 at My Memory
Avatar (PS3/360) £7.99
If three hours of overrated ‘3D’ and Smurfs/Fern Gully/Pocahontas/Dances with Wolves plot-pillaging left you wanting more, then you might be interested in the Avatar tie-in which was going to change tie-ins forever, but was ultimately a bit poo. It is playable in stereoscopic 3D though, so when you can afford a 3D TV in a few years you could dust it off. Chances are you won’t bother though as you’ll remember the average third-person combat and chunky jungle graphics that you won’t want to step into or have invading your living room. If you’re still interested, there are two campaign modes, one from the marine’s perspective or the slightly better Na’Vi missions where you control the big blue treehuggers using spears, bows and the like. The next best deal is £9.93 at The Hut.
