Command & Conquer 4: Tiberium Twilight | £5.98 | Direct2Drive | PC

Oh Command & Conquer, you used to be the crème de la crème of the Real Time Strategy genre, and then the fourth instalment happened. Borrowing more than it should have from the Dawn of War series and distancing itself mechanics-wise from previous titles in the C&C franchise, Tiberium Twilight just doesn’t feel right at all (even with Kane returning for more cheesy FMV sequences.) Annoying DRM also makes things less ideal. Still, the multiplayer is entertaining with its many various modes, and Direct2Drive’s current sale price will mean you can save £3 over the next best offers for it from Game and Amazon. If you ever wanted to give it a go but couldn’t justify the price (even at a tenner) this is perhaps the perfect opportunity.

This was £3 during the Steam sale a few days ago, and it wasn't even worth that.

Sadly, we'll probably be saying that about a fair few games over the next couple of weeks. :( God bless the Steam sale, and damn our now-empty wallets!

I'm living off pasta and bread for a couple of weeks because of that sale. On the bright side I finally own a copy of C&C3 and Kane's Wrath... both of which I've played and beaten via the generosity of friends. God damn you Gaben why you got to do a thing
