*CLOSED* COMPETITION | WIN Defenders Of Ardania! [Steam]

Have you ever played a tower defence game and wondered "why can't I deploy my own units to destroy the incoming invaders? Why do I have to just sit on my ass the whole time? I want to go on the offensive, damn it!"

If so, Defenders Of Ardania will be the answer to your prayers, revitalising the classic formula with an enormous array of fantasy soldiers to deploy. You'll need a fair bit of practice to learn the ropes, but once everything clicks you'll be able to enjoy a pleasingly strategic romp through a meaty singleplayer campaign and multiplayer modes. Plus, it's dead pretty. You can read our recent Defenders Of Ardania review for more details.

Defenders Of Ardania currently retails for £9.99 on Steam... but in their infinite generosity, Paradox Interactive has provided us with SIX Steam codes to give away!

To be in with a chance of winning, just drop us a line in the comments below that contains the word "defence," defender" or "hold the line."

We'll pick the six winners based on the most humorous or insightful entries, or randomly if it's too close to call. Be sure to provide a valid email address as that's how we'll send you the codes - and multiple entries will be disqualified. Admin's decision is final.

Competition closes at 6pm on Wednesday 28th March.

Defenders of the Earth? Pfft, I am VOLTRON, Defender of the UNIVERSE!

lordselsig  Mar. 23, 2012 at 18:16

In my defence Officer I was just trying to trick the unicorn into revealing its secrets on how to make a good lasagne, I never expected him to get into a bar fight with a pregnant goat-man over cinnamon sticks, and when I tried to break up said fight, how that pool cue impaled that leprechaun's foot I haven't the foggiest, so to conclude the toilet is the second door on the left, safe travels.

Let me have the Steam key and I'm going to defend your realm like no-one has ever defended it before. I can save your homes, valuables and lives and I can make your enemies suffer greatly - just give me the chance...

Yours truely,

Zeipher  Mar. 23, 2012 at 19:17

Loves me some Tower strategy games. Always reminds me of that time I held back an invading army trying to get through my swamp... or was it my ex? In any case, in my defence how was I to know I'd get in trouble for carrying a congealed weapon???

Was just on the phone to the department of defence, but had to tell them to hold the line, while I enter this fantastic competition on Dealspwn, but they said 'Wait, Ardania needs a new defender, and we believe you're just the man.'

Defender? Hold the line, I only just met 'er! I have no defence for this terrible pun.

pete_21  Mar. 23, 2012 at 19:56

I dented defender on me car as I hit defence.

deanthomasclarke  Mar. 23, 2012 at 20:06

I haven't played a strategy game in a while, I'd love to play so i can build up my defence and hold the line of enemies back...... defender :P

Bonus points for all 3 terms?

Im that bad at fishing, one day I called up the fishing help line. I asked to be put through to the fishing rod tips section, and the operator asked 'ok sir, can you hold the line?'

I replied 'uh, no?'

So instead, I joined a French self defence class. I'm absolutely knackered - I've never run so far in my life!

I'm no good a humour and I doubt I'm insightful.. but I'll comment anyway!

It's good to see someone trying to bring something new to this genre. I think I've played one too many generic tower defence games to get excited over a new one without there being a twist. I can honestly say that my favourite two have been Plants vs Zombies for it's quirky humour, excellent cartoon graphics and simple system. My second would be Revenge of the Titans where I enjoy the level up system, unique RTS style management and awesome bosses!

I'll promise this tho, if I did win Defenders of Arcadia it would be treasured in my steam library with the two above and played till god knows when.. it may also get action during many a lunch hour and seriously harm my overall productivity almost as much as HotUKDeals harms my bank balance!

300 in a Liverpool context;

"You. Southerner. Hold the line"
"We're off to get bevvied"

Quietus  Mar. 24, 2012 at 00:34

"Hold the line, Defender!" = "Ended thine fell horde."

icehaku  Mar. 24, 2012 at 02:38

Pokemaul? Element TD? Poker Defense? Legion TD? OMG!Use plants to kill Zombies? NO! I'm A Defenser of Mothe**** Ardania!

Garymo  Mar. 25, 2012 at 04:29

"Hold the Line," and I started running around the house in my underwear, screaming, "I'm on Dealspwn.com!"

softlysoftly  Mar. 25, 2012 at 07:01

Can we sing a little ditty to the tune of hold the line by TOTO, and just change the words to include references to ardania, and the sheer size of it's big mountains, towers and columns, which stand out so proudly in defence of its borders?
A new anthem for paradox interactive?

Ministry of Defence: Thanks for your call. Can you please hold the line?
The Defender: Sure...
(After 120 seconds)
Ministry of Defence: Thanks for holding. May I start by taking your name and the reason for calling?
The Defender: Yes, my name is Defender, and the reason I'm calling is...
Ministry of Defence: May I also have your last name sir?
The Defender: ...Hmmm, I don't have one. May I still state the reason I'm calling?
Ministry of Defence: No last name? OK, so you're Defender from...?
The Defender: Glad you asked, I am Defender from Ardania and the reason I'm calling is because I urgently need a Steam code to kill my greatest enemy, the boredom.
Ministry of Defence: Ah yes, you are the sixth caller today, and the last lucky winner of a Steam code. We already gave 5 Steam codes to other people who called today. Funnily enough, they were all from Ardania...?
The Defender: (screams from joy) Yay...thank you so much Mr...?
Ministry of Defence: My name is Mr. Paradox.
The Defender: ...Thank you Mr. Paradox, this made my day!
Ministry of Defence: You're welcome, glad to help you get rid of your enemy, that's why we're here. Have a good day!
