COMPETITION | Win A TokyoFlash Kisai Seven Watch

Tokyoflash make watches...but not any old watches. They make super funky, outlandishly futuristic, and ridiculously cool watches.

Like the Kisai Seven: a.k.a. The Tron Watch.

These babies will usually run you close to £100, but we've got one tucked away to be won by one of you - our dear readers. It's a prize that's a little different, we know, so we're going to make this a little different too.

We're going to have a poetry competition!

Here's how you enter:

  1. Write a poem (no more than 20 lines please) on any video game or video game character you like - the title should be the name of the game/character
  2. Stick it in an email to [email protected]
  3. Include your name and your Dealspwn/HUKD username
  4. Use 'Kisai 7 Comp' as the title
  5. Hit 'Send'

The closing date for entries will be 09:00 on Wednesday 20th March, after which we'll prepare a shortlist to be published on the site, and pick a winner.

Be inventive. You can send in limericks, sonnets, haiku, blank verse, free verse, the choice is yours. Just ensure that your poems are no longer than 20 lines.

Some house rules:

  • One entry per user account
  • One entry per household
  • Make sure you follow the guidelines above. We'll disqualify any entries not adhering to them.
  • UK entrants only
  • Judges' decision is final

You can check out the official listing page for the Kisai Seven over at Tokyoflash.

Good luck!

I don't think I've written a poem since I was in school! :D

Gonna give this a shot, though. Love tokyoflash's stuff!

Whelp, I've thrown my idea into the pot.

Despite having zero poetry talent I feel strangely compelled to give this a go...

Ilium  Mar. 15, 2013 at 10:54

Just emailed mine in. Short and sweet :)

Quietus  Mar. 15, 2013 at 17:40

Hehe, my entry is in. Good luck, everyone.:)

Anyone else up for a go at this? Perhaps we will be able to compile a Dealspwn book of gaming poetry from all of these entries...? :)

Best of luck everyone.

No, not even remotely tempted, personally.

I don't know if you've ever seen someone using a pocket watch. Probably have on tv, probably not in real life. They were a fantastic innovation, and fairly essential in their day. But then their day ended. Times moved on.

That's how I feel about wristwatches now.

In fact, I'd probably rather have a pocket watch than a wristwatch. (Especially these particular watches. Funky? Cool? Give me something I can tell the time on at a glance thankyouverymuch.)

Haven't worn a watch in about 15 years. They join landlines in the pile of aged technology that's no longer required since the advent of mobile phones.

That being said, I know I'm in a minority, and most people still like watches.
Weirdos ;)

Reckon a haiku is in order

I just had a try, went with an old classic :)

The problem is, I'm one of the minority who doesn't need a mobile phone, and I'd feel ever so awkward keep asking people what the time is.:p

There's always one, isn't there.

To be fair, it's usually me ;)
