New Concept Art Emerges For Chris Roberts’ Upcoming Project

Carriers, Hangers, & Fighters (Oh My!)

With under two weeks to go before Wing Commander creator Chris Roberts officially unveils his new space-based game, a new piece of concept art has emerged from the Roberts Space Industries website. The picture, titled “Carrier Hanger”, gives us a taster of what we could be calling home in Roberts’ new universe (click to see it in all its glory.) What’s more, it confirms that artist Ryan Church is on board for designing duties for the project.

Church’s previous credits include Episode II & III of the Star Wars saga, Avatar, Super 8, the reboot of Star Trek (and its upcoming sequel), and perhaps more relevantly Dead Space. You can view some of his other work by heading to his official gallery here.

In other news, the RSI website continues to provide polls for registered users, asking what kind of controls they would like to use and what sort of game they want it to be (with story-driven, open world, and MMO being a few of the options.) The website also continues to provide a backstory for the new game which has already highlighted humanity’s rise to the stars, their first contact with an alien species, and their first intergalactic conflict. To get involved, head over to the RSI website and register.

We will definitely be all over the official reveal on October 10th, but in the meantime we will keep you up to date with any new information as it appears.
