A shiny trailer has emerged for Valve's Counter-Strike reboot that shows off a firefight in an underpass.
A PAX preview conducted by Kotaku has revealed a few other things as well. CS: GO will contain five maps for Bomb/Defuse mode, and two for another returning mode: Hostage Rescue. All seven are based on classic Counter-Strike 1.6 and CS: Source material. Expect Dust to make a return.
A new Casual mode has been introduced to appeal to newbies, and in this mode money will be unlimited so you can start each round with whatever loadout you want, regardless of performance. Competitive mode is more like the Counter-Strike of old: eliminating cross-team chatter, lowering the time limit from three minutes to two and reintroducing currency based on performance. There'll also be a system - abbreviated to ELO - that will help matchmake by skill when in Competitive mode, with matches determined more in favour of friends when playing in Casual.
As with Portal 2, cross-platform gameplay between PC, Mac and PS3 will be possible and you'll be able to use a mouse and keyboard with the PS3 version should you so wish.
