Creative Assembly, the tactical masterminds behind the Total War franchise, is hard at work on a game set in Ridley Scott's - or James Cameron's, depending on preference - Alien universe. However, if you're expecting a strategic assault managing xenomorph units and facehugger resources, I'm afraid the project is being primed for a "console core game", suggesting it won't be an RTS, a genre that has typically struggled on the platform.
And, sadly, we won't be seeing anything from the untitled game at E3, either. Clearly in the very nascent stages of development, it'll be a complete no-show at E3, and Creative Assembly announced no further plans to reveal more of the game to the press. That said, we're excited, especially with the pedigree of talent behind the title. Alien is a universe ripe with potential in videogames. Would it be asking too much for a facehugger RPG? [Eurogamer]
