Crysis 3 Won't Come To Wii U Due To Lack Of "Business Drive"

Crytek have revealed that Crysis 3 won't grace Nintendo's new console, even though they want it to.

"There has been discussions between Nintendo and EA and Crytek, but the bottom line is that there is that there's not enough business drive in it," Crytek CEO Cervat Yerli explained to Digital Spy.

"It's a purely business decision. I'd love to see it on Wii U, but what I love to see and what gets done at the end of the day are two different things. Even so, I could initiate it but someone has to sell it, right?"

"It's a business decision between EA and Nintendo," he reiterated. "If that business decision doesn't make sense, or seems to not make sense for them, it's... not possible for us to make it. We can't publish ourselves, and that's the bottom line."

We're rather disappointed about this, simply because CryEngine 3 would have made for an interesting graphical benchmark for the Wii U. Still, I daresay that many Wii U owners will be too busy playing Rayman Legends to notice...

Typical Nintendo and their underpowered hardware. Wii U should have shipped with an integral Business Drive as standard

Had been rumoured for quite a while, but this is worrying news, though.
To be honest, I would've thought it'd be worth bringing out even if it didn't make a profit. I'm not a big fan of Crysis, but bringing a graphical benchmark game to the U and showing off how it performs against the 360 and the ps3 would've been a good move for Nintendo (assuming it would perform favourably in comparison with those ageing machines).

That's probably part of why Nintendo didn't want to do it. Batman Arkham City runs like a dog as the Wii U is less powerful than the 360 and PS3. It would only show it up badly.

Anyone else notice EA bypassing the Wii U?

They certainly don't seem to be feeling the U vibe like Ubisoft, do they!
There's a few games, but nowhere near as many as you'd expect from a publisher holding so many titles.
