For just a penny more than the cheapest used copy I have been able to find, you can get your hands on a brand spanking new copy of Crysis: Warhead from The Game Collection. It's the best price I have seen for the game and undercuts the next best (£9.87 from 101 CD) by nearly three pounds.
Warhead is an expansion to the original Crysis but also a standalone game in its own right and you don't need to have the first title installed in order to play it.
The action of Warhead runs parallel to that of Crysis but this time the narrative follows Sgt. Michaels Sykes, aka "Psycho", a Delta Force operator whose brash chap who does his best to live up to his charming nickname. The game follows Sykes as he accidentally stumbles upon an antique alien ship while on the search for a nuclear missile, and then gets captured and tortured by the North Korean army. So, very reminiscent of Hello Kitty Roller Rescue then.
Crysis: Warhead is pretty damn close to impeccable in lots of ways. It more than lives up to expectations for graphical beauty and thankfully this time it does require a complete PC upgrade just to run the damn thing. Crytek have also amped up the action in the game but without any dumbing down; combat is tight, intense and thrilling and the enemy AI has been given a bit of an overhaul (though still leaves a lot to be desired).
With a big world to keep you busy and some great multiplayer options, Crysis Warhead is pretty sweet value for money and well worth investing in if you're a PC gamer.
