Crysis Warhead £9.95 @ Zavvi [PC Game]

Don the nanosuit and become Sergeant ‘Psycho’ Sykes of Delta Force, whose tropical holiday vacation is rudely interrupted by aliens in Crysis Warhead, available from Zavvi for only £9.95!

Shot into a price-comparison, Zavvi’s deal for Crysis Warhead emerged the cheapest around, with a three-pound saving! The pseudo-sequel to Crysis, Warhead impressed critics with its visceral action and intense set-pieces, earning an 84/100 on MetaCritic, with critics impressed by the renewed focus on action, and the improved multiplayer features.

Warhead follows a parallel story to Crysis’, with Nomad replaced by Sykes, a brash, somewhat mentally deranged fellow, whose love for battle is key to the sequel’s new direction. It endeavours to focus the action on the player, with more battles and set-pieces occurring, in comparison to the random, haphazard scattering of encounters you may stumble upon in Crysis. Sykes is armed with new weapons, such as two submachine-guns he can wield simultaneously, to the Particle Accumulator Cannon, as well as the series’ trademark nanosuit, which can render Sykes invisible or empower him to perform superhuman feats of strength and agility.

The Crysis name is synonymous with graphical beauty, and Warhead doesn’t disappoint. The scenery is similar, with lush tropical waters, white-sand beaches and swaying palm-trees, but the engine has been refined and reworked to run on less powerful systems, unlike the original which required you to hijack a NASA computer!

Crysis Warhead also includes an additional multiplayer mode, Crysis Wars. Instant Action and Power Struggle can be enjoyed, alongside Team variations available on 21 different maps.

I bought this a while back, and just tried it for the first time yesterday. I played the first level on normal difficulty and I found it quite difficult. I'm finding it very hard to get used to the suit controls, I guess i just need some practice!
