We've been keeping an eye on the anarchic Cthulhu Saves The World ever since it topped our Xbox Live Indie Game Of The Week roundup... and heard that the anarchic indie RPG was being ported over to PC along with a host of new features. Developer Robert Boyd has announced that the CSTW Bundle, including the full version of his previous masterpiece Breath Of Death VII, will be hitting Steam and Gamersgate in mid-July. Full details below.
In his latest blog post, Boyd confirmed that the Cthulhu Saves the World: Super Hyper Enhanced Championship Edition Alpha Diamond DX Plus Alpha FES HD (which we'll call the CSTW Bundle from now on) will be available on July 13th at Steam and Gamersgate. For $3. Including a full extra game, which we independently considered to be the eighth best Indie title of 2010.
You can read up on exactly what CSTW is all about in our Xbox Live Indie review, but suffice to say that much has changed in the last six months. The PC version will ship with a host of new features including a director's commentary mode, rebalanced enemies, a new difficulty level, unlockable character bromides (sexy concept art a go-g0) and the Cthulhu’s Angels game mode... which sounds so awesome that I'll need Boyd to describe it himself.
Cthulhu is too lazy to save the world so he talks a bunch of beautiful women into saving it for him! This remix mode features new dialogue, new playable characters (Molly the Were-Zompire! Elonalina the generic healer! Dark Knight Umi! Low level October!), new music, new abilities, and much, much more!
All of this. For $3. July 13th. Naturally we'll have a full review in due time, but for now, this is something to get very excited about. Keep an eye on Zeboyd Games' blog for more details.
