Still Rock Hard, Though
After revealing Dark Souls II at this year's VGA ceremony, From Software has revealed that the anticipated sequel will be more approachable than its ferocious forebears.
Confirming that Dark Souls co-directors Tomohiro Shibuya and Yui Tanimura are back on board for the sequel, From Software suggested that new players will have an easier time getting into the game.
“I personally am the sort of person who likes to be more direct than subtle," Shibuya told EDGE Magazine. "[Dark Souls 2] will be more straightforward and more understandable.” According to the magazine, however, he also reassured fans that the experience will still be as tough and unremitting as ever.
While some hardcore fans have already started railing at the idea of the series becoming a little softer around the edges, allowing more players to get involved probably couldn't be a bad thing. Plus, let's face it, Dark Souls II is still going to be all kinds of punishing.
