Dark Void £4.99 @ Play [XBox 360 & PS3 Games]

Sure, it's a bit lame but I'm still pretty darn impressed to see that it is already possible to buy Dark Void and come away with change from a fiver!

Play are currently selling both the Playstation 3 and XBox 360 version at the cheapest-ever price of £4.99, while the next best price for either console weighs three pounds heavier at £7.99 from a number of retailers.

It's 1938 and after having the misfortune of crashing in the Bermuda Triangle, of all places, cargo pilot William Grey is whisked away to "The Void" — a parallel universe crawling with the unfriendliest of aliens and a small population of human "Survivors". These Survivors have the chance to fulfill their wish to return to earth, but in order to do so, they must battle the might of alien race The Watchers.

A game which allows you to switch back and forth between jetpack and shooting action should be a lot more fun than this. The jetpack sections are pretty enjoyable to be fair but there is way too much out-of-pack time, during which you are forced to engage in unengaging and fairly mediocre combat. The graphics are adequate but certainly nothing special, likewise for the art direction as a whole. The AI is irritating and the enemies repetitive. Furthermore, Dark Void is really lacking in any kind of replay value, thanks to a lack of multiplayer options and nothing to tempt you back into the main campaign for a second time.Dark Void £4.99 @ Play [XBox 360 & PS3 Games]

It's one of the worst things that Capcom have spewed out for a good long while but I reckon there's probably just enough fun to be had in this disappointing little package to make it worth a fiver.
