Just a quick update here for fans of Digital Extremes' upcoming demonic blood-bath, The Darkness 2, that publisher 2K Games has opted to shunt the title into a 2012 release slot. Initially scheduled for October 7th of this year, either the developers require a wee bit more time to iron out the kinks and wipe on the polish, or the bustling presence of blockbusters such as Arkham City, Elder Scrolls V Skyrim and - of course - Modern Warfare 3 have forced 2K's hand.
It's a wise move, really; the rest of the year is filled to the brim with cracking titles. An early 2012 release offers 2K the chance to plunder a few post-Christmas blues and avoid the likes of Mass Effect 3 and co before they land. Tom dropped a preview back in March, detailing the games' newfangled features, such as 'quad-wielding' and the grisly new executions you can perform courtesy of your mischievous demon arms. The scamps!
