Dead Island: Epidemic Fully Revealed In Gamescom Screenshots

As promised, Deep Silver have finally parted with concrete details about Dead Island: Epidemic - the zombie MOBA (ZOMBA) slated for free release on PC. Apparently the project features three teams of four players, who'll have to battle the zombie hordes as well as each other.

As opposed to traditional two-team or free-for-all MOBA gameplay, Epidemic effectively features a  4 v 4 v 4 v Zombies setup, which is simultaneously PvE and PvP. Though teams will have to brutalise each other to stay ahead, "freakish super-bosses" and "heavily infected creatures" will require all 12 players to work together to take down. Control points will be dynamically scattered throughout the map and sometimes change position, livening up the staid fixed base formula.

Epidemic also features an immense crafting system where players can forge their weapon arsenal of choice. There will be hundreds of weapons, trinkets and items that players can craft, and once created, these weapons can continue to be improved to fully suit a player’s personality and play style. "Combining weapons and their effects and perks will offer an enormous range of possible setups and a new take on gameplay in this genre." Apparently.

We don't have a release date as-yet, but we do have screenshots. Behold. Is a Dead Island MOBA something you want or need?
