Dead Space 3 Players Flout Microtransactions With Infinite Resources Exploit

Dead Space 3 may have only released in the States yesterday, but players have already found a way to stick it to EA's myriad microtransactions with an exploit that lets them farm resources for free. Whoops. If you're interested in thoroughly spoiling it for yourself before Friday's European launch, we've embedded an explanatory video under the break. [Courtesy of Game Front via D'Toid]

Resources will be used to upgrade weapons as you progress through the campaign, with limited amounts designed to tempt players into buying more for real money. Until a fix is released, however, you probably won't need to bother (or, you know, if you don't want to ruin Dead Space 3's pacing).

I reckon that canny players will probably opt to decline the inevitable title update fix (since money is on the line, it's bound to happen much sooner than bug fixes etc), play Dead Space 3 offline, grab plenty of resources and then update to play co-op with all their shiny new gear.

And why not.
