About The Dealspwn Authors
Contrary to what you might believe, Dealspwn is not powered by schizophrenic automatons programmed to hunt down cheap games, but is the work of a team of dedicated individuals who have two things in common: they love the sound of their own words, and they all have a burning passion when it comes to videogaming. These are the folks who steer the good ship Dealspwn upon the high seas of the gaming industry. If you have a query about anything at all, drop them an email, they’re all perfectly friendly and approachable. No, really.
Brendan Griffiths
Brendan is an aspiring games journalist with a degree in Journalism and Film & Media. Brendan likes writing about PS3 titles but has been known to do a bit of Wii and PSP on the side. He’ll buy a 360 when they stop dying every five minutes. He has been writing for a while now and loving it, and his aim is to do it full-time eventually. You can read more on his website. His favourite genre is the first person shooter, and his favourite gaming series is Burnout.
If Brendan was a game character, he would be Ken Masters from the Street Fighter series – just to annoy Ryu at training: “Hey Ryu I have a girlfriend and a life, you train non-stop, so why are you still a bit shit?”

Felix Kemp
Felix Kemp is an aspiring writer of all kinds, having dabbled in novel writing, screenwriting, journalism and Facebook status-updates. His first console was the Sega Mega Drive, and he graduated from Sonic to Mario with the N64. He fell in love with Zelda, then realised he had to be more manly, and lost himself in the alien terrain of Halo. He likes Call of Duty, even if its a playground for homophobes and racists who use the same insult-book.
If Felix were a videogame character, he’d be a Fizzlybear from Viva Pinata. That’s right, he plays Viva Pinata. Or, at least, he watches his girlfriend play it and convinces himself he’s watching it for obligated purposes.
Jonathan Lester
Jon is a self-confessed power geek since childhood, and has always considered gaming to be his major hobby. Shooters, RPGs, flight sims and anything with giant robots are his weapons of choice; but he’ll happily play anything that drowns out the boredom of geology academia for a few hours.
As a hardcore SEGA fanboy, he’s had to make do with an Xbox 360 and pretty much every handheld out there, though he can forsee a certain next-gen Sony console making an appearance in the near future. Jon has built his own arcade machine to run every retro lightgun game ever released, which is pretty sweet.
If Jon was a videogame character, he would be the 4×1 Tetris block. You won’t see him for a while, but when he drops in, he’s guaranteed to save the day!

Lydia Low
Lydia lives in London with her three pet ferrets works as a games tester when she’s not writing for Dealspwn. She dreams of being a published author with a sideline in games journalism who would like to live in a lighthouse with a carousel at the top.
She loves nearly all types of game but sports/racers don’t tend to interest her (apart from Mario Kart of course). Lydia enjoys first person shooters (particularly Left 4 Dead) but she gets cross with herself because she really sucks at them. Apart from games, she is borderline obsessive about books, music, dancing, snow, animals, rollercoasters and dressing up in ridiculous clothes. She will never give up the impossible wish for a Pokémon MMORPG.
If Lydia was a video game character, she would be Agitha, the self proclaimed Princess of Bugs, from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. They share the same love for invertebrates and *ahem* sophisticated sense of style and she would love to live alone in a “castle”, hosting bug balls and talking to handsome young strangers in green.

Marius Goubert
Since graduating from the University of Kent University in 2008, Marius has worked as a freelance writer and published articles on graffiti art, global warming, binge drinking, classical history, video games and even seagull attacks. One day he hopes to land a full time job as a copywriter. Along with huting down cheap games, he also enjoys mixing, and writes DJ tutorials.
Marius’ favourite game genre would have to be first person shooters, but he also love his strategy games – especially the mighty Total War series!
Marius can adapt to any culture or surroundings and has passive-aggressive tendencies yet thrives under pressure. Above all else, he has a big heart but even bigger fists, which pretty much makes him Alex Kidd.

Matt Gardner
Matt is a severe games addict with a penchant for pretentious pontification. He has been writing for several years, engaging in criticism across a variety of media, has started and forgotten many blogs, but you can find his latest collection of media musings here.
Once a die-hard Nintendo fanboy, the Wii shattered his faith completely and now you’ll usually find him engaged in an FPS over Xbox LIVE (and dying a lot), getting stuck into a meaty RPG or moaning about how LucasArts haven’t made a really good game since Grim Fandango. BioWare games are like crack to him and his favourite games of all time are probably KOTOR, Ocarina of Time and Mortal Kombat 3. This week, anyway.
If Matt was a videogame character, he’d probably be Earl from SEGA’s hip-hop adventure carnival ToeJam & Earl because he’s chunky, laid-back, cool and terrible at flying spaceships.

Neil Davey
Neil Davey tried banking and lasted a remarkable 11 years before he: a) predicted the industry’s downfall; and b) realised he hated it. While he was spot on about the latter, he was about 12 years early on the former. Games, film, food, drink, showbiz and travel are now his areas of expertise. Finance and making accurate predictions aren’t. He freelances for a number of people from The Guardian to SAGA, via assorted glossies. He has also been a cheesemonger. No. Really.
If Neil could be any game character he’d be a Referee in Pro-Evolution Soccer and would be a revenge-fuelled, card-wielding psychopath.

Tamsin Oxford
Tamsin is a games-mad, girl-geek who loves to write about all the goings on in the industry, spends many nights playing until the small hours and has a pet head-crab. She writes for PC Format, The Official Windows Magazine, TechRadar and many more, a full list can be found at her website. Her favourite genres are FPS, RTS and MMORPG and best game series of all time is Half Life/HL2.
If Tamsin was a game character, she would be Gordon Freeman. She is Gordon Freeman. She needs to be Gordon Freeman. She adores, adores that game.
