Death Road Careening Onto PC & PS3 [UPDATE]

The PC and PS3 will be receiving another futuristic combat-heavy racer courtesy of Death Road: an independent racing game from Polish indie studio Active Zone Group. In order to reach the finish line (let alone win) players will need to use eleven different vehicles and a selection of armaments including plasma guns and tactical missiles.

Active Zone Group have confirmed that Death Road will release on March 30th for PC, with a PSN launch scheduled for early summer. We've got pics and details after the break. UPDATE: Have a gameplay trailer.

Death Road will offer several game modes, the "most important" of which being a fully-fledged single-player campaign in with 55 missions and four discrete chapters. Active Zone Group suggest that it offers "over eight hours of fun." As a racing game, There will also be fast race, time trial, elimination, mine field, combat, and Hunt modes – bolstered by unlockable bonuses and achievements.

It reminds us a lot of P.O.D... and WipEout. In a good way.

We need a new modern Wipeout that is on PC.

One of my favourite games on PS1 - me and my friend would take turns racing, trying to beat each other and getting the lap/race time down bit-by-bit. Perfect lap, after perfect lap , after perfect lap - and we just kept going! The times keep getting faster. MOAR perfect!
