Deep Down Will Be Free To Play On PS4

Just a quickie: Deep Down is a free-to-play title, Capcom announced during the Tokyo Game Show. The PS4-bound procedurally generated cooperative dungeon crawler will enter beta near the console's Japanese launch next year, hammered home by a recent tweet from Sony's Shuhei Yoshida.

As a spiritual successor to Dragon's Dogma, we certainly have high hopes for this one. That said, it may take some time for Western release details to emerge.

Hopefully they remember to tweak the difficulty for those who like solo play. I also hope that all content is available, and it's not the usual, pay-to-win title.

Good news, will definitely give it a try. Looking forward to Dragon's Dogma on PS+ also

Definitely going to give it a go now. I thought the combat looked a bit naff in the gameplay demonstration but why not give it a go if it's free.

Oh no, this is really disappointing. I was looking forward to this as a 'must have' game for the PS4 to get me to buy one next year. 'Free to play' usually means it'll be a pretty weak game 'but that's okay because it's free' and also that it will be pay to win and end up being much more expensive than a retail title if you actually want to get anywhere, especially as Capcom is the developer.
