From the people who brought us Shoot Many Robots comes Shoot Many Robots: Arena Kings! Imagine that sentence being said in the booming style of "Movie Trailer Voiceover Guy" and you get the idea.
Demiurge have revealed that their next game will be a free-to-play, 2D, online deathmatch title. Apparently, one of the game modes - "Royal Flush" - will see Kings striving to murder one another, nick the others' crowns, and flush them down a teleporting toilet.
“We’re taking our favourite parts of Shoot Many Robots and stirring in PvP competition and gameplay that’s constantly evolving,” said Arena Kings' lead designer, Will Jennings. “It’s like a big tasty vegetarian stew with lots of guns in it, but also alive and mutating and fighting other soups. While I’ve got notebooks full of weapons, special moves, and pants I can’t wait to add, what’s really exciting is getting to hear from players in the earliest stages of the game’s development and giving them what they’re asking for, sometimes in the very next weekly update.”
Arena Kings will be free on PC via Steam, and Demiurge are currently running a closed beta that you can sign up to right here, with keys being sent out each week.
