Demon's Souls Pre-order £29.58 @ Tesco Entertainment [PS3 Games]

Whilst Japan and the US have been able to enjoy the wonders that Demon's Souls has to offer for a couple of months now, we in the UK and indeed the rest of Europe have had to wait patiently for our chance to take part in its epic romp through medieval times. Luckily, this pre-order deal should make the wait for the 25th June a little bit more bearable.

NB. Remember to use the following code to get the game at the advertised price: FTSL15-1

Tesco Entertainment are parting with copies of the game for £29.58, which'll save you over £5 on the next best pre-order deal of £34.95 coming in from Zavvi.

Demon's souls throws gamers into a harsh, unforgiving world, filled with dread, and its up to you to change this by overcoming the cruel enemies that are waiting to pummel you into the ground at every opportunity. The gameplay shadows the feel of the game by pitting you against foes that will almost certainly cause you to lose your life, however its advisable to make sure you survive for two reasons; one, the game actually gets harder the more you die!; and two, you'll lose the cash you've earned along with the experience you've collected prior to dying. Now this might sound like an infuriating combination that'll lead to many a smashed control/LCD screen, but it actually adds to the charm of the game, filling you with pure joy when you finally manage to take down a boss character.

The combat is incredibly varied, allowing you access to different controls depending on whether you wield your weapons with one or two hands. One of the big advantages of a single handed grip is that it frees up your other hand to grasp a shield, which you can use to block and parry your enemies attacks and may leave them open to a critical attack. The enormous range of combat moves is almost impossible to master after a single play-through and will be one of the many reasons that you'll want to replay the game.

As with most RPGs, these a whole host of ways that you can approach the game, for example you can choose to either smash your way through your opponents defences as a fearsome warrior, stand back and blast them with magic from a distance, or combine the two for a devastating variety of bloodshed.

Demon's souls is not only challenging, but also incredibly rewarding, and provides you with an experience that you'll definitely want to go back and revisit.

Not as difficult as everyone would have you believe. If you can make it past the first level then things get easier as you can start to level up your character.
Plus the UK release is coming with some special additions, artbook, strategy guide and OST.

One of the best games on the PS3 so don't miss it.

already own the US Deluxe version, but feel compelled to get this as well.
irrational, i know.

Not too irrational. I had the US version, standard one as somebody purchased it for me as a present otherwise I would have got the deluxe version.
Have since flogged the US version to make way for this, I perhaps wouldn't have done this if it was the deluxe version (well I might have sold the disk but kept the goodies).

You may also like to know that the strategy guide isn't the same as what was in the US deluxe edition. At the moment I don't know whether that is a good or bad thing but the UK one will be hardbacked.

Note that your US savefile will most likely not work with the UK version, but hey you can earn another Platinum!

Yeah good job brcu.
Just a shame that the thread didn't get a bit hotter. Certainly is the best price around plus one of the best games around.

"Europeans wouldn’t consider buying a game without checkpoints, regenerating health and cushy difficulty levels. Luckily, unexpectedly high import sales proved Sony dead wrong. [Gamesindustry.biz]"

Problem is of course with that, is how many of us will double-dip.

I put about 160 hours into this game with my Asian import and although very tempted, I don't know if I would buy it again.

Just hope the sales aren't affected too much because of the huge import numbers.
