Bungie's Destiny is taking shape as a Sci-Fi shooter with massive potential, with new details are breaking cover across the internet in preparation for the summer beta. Gameplay seems to be fun and familiar fare that blends Halo-style FPS action with persistent RPG elements, with plenty of scope to cooperate with other players on your server.

Strikes will be a key case in point, which are effectively Destiny's way of saying "dungeons." You and three other players will smash through some tricky encounters, fight emplaced foes, face off in set pieces and loot dead bosses, as seen here in two extensive gameplay trailers, one of which is directly narrated by the designers.

Destiny is out on September 9th for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One - with exclusive PlayStation content. Who's excited?
