Deus Ex: Human Revolution Collector's Edition Revealed

Here we go again: another special edition stuffed full of merch and tat. However, this one looks a tad more exciting than most. Square have revelealed a lavish Collector's Edition for Deus Ex: Human Revolution that contains a multi-jointed action figure, DLC content, bonus DVD and, as always, an art book.

Eidos Montreal have also made highlighting items an optional feature for all you Deus Ex purists. Full details below.

Here's the special edition contents in full:

  • Collectible Adam Jensen action figurine designed by Play Arts Kai.
  • Explosive Mission Pack: An entirely new mission with a special cameo appearance from one of the original Deus Ex characters.
  • Exclusive in-game weapons: Automatic Unlocking Device, M-28 Utility Remote-Detonated Explosive Device (UR-DED), Linebacker G-87 multiple shot grenade launcher, Huntsman Silverback Double-Barrel Shotgun, SERSR Longsword Whisperhead silenced sniper rifle.
  • 10,000 extra credits to buy or upgrade weapons.
  • DVD featuring a 44-minute “making of” special, 30-minute game soundtrack, motion-comic (adapted from DC Comics’ official series), E3 trailer and animated storyboard
  • 40-page art book.
  • Specially designed Collector’s Box (ooh, great)

Apparently a bonus mission will feature a character from the original Deus Ex, and personally, my money's on Manderley or Tracer Tong - thanks Lyonator - (since I happened to hear his name mentioned during a hands-off preview at last year's Gamescom). It's still just a guess, mind.

In other Deus Ex news, the augmented reality visor mode that highlights objects, weapons and items is now a toggle-able function so that purists can enjoy the experience as nature intended. [RPS]

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is still one of our most anticipated titles of 2011, and we'll keep you posted.

I'm *fairly* sure they've confirmed the previous Deus Ex character in the add-on mission is Tracer Tong. I've seen loads of marketing to say so.

Good shout.
