EDIT - Square-Enix's PR dept. have confirmed that Deus Ex: Human Revolution will release in Europe on August 26th, which means just five months separates us from one of the most eagerly anticipated games of the year! We're pretty excited.
Originally, Human Revolution was due for release earlier in the year. Like now. But Square Enix chose to delay the game to an unspecified date, much to the chagrin of fans, who've been waiting for this game for literally years. But Square was adamant the delay wasn't a profit-minded decision; it was in the interests of the game and its fans.
"With weak sales performance of console game titles that have been newly released during the current fiscal year as well as harsh market feedback regarding a key title, the Group recognizes the reinforcement of development capability in our Digital Entertainment segment as our most critical managerial issue". Basically, they're spending a little more time on the game to iron out the kinks and ensure it's the best Deux Ex experience they can deliver. Bravo. [Eurogamer]
