Attention Guild Wars 2 fans! Ahead of the next week’s big update to the on-going Living Story – titled Escape from Lion’s Arch – we’re giving the community to chance to ask the developers over at ArenaNet some questions. It’s a great opportunity to learn what the devs have in store as supervillian Scarlett assaults one of the iconic locations in the Guild Wars series, and you can watch a teaser of what is to come in the video above.

Want to learn more? Hit the jump.

Here’s what the offical press releases has to say – “The forces of the sylvari supervillain will soon descend upon Lion’s Arch. Aetherblade airships, dirigibles of death piloted by the dreaded pirates who now serve Scarlet, loom over the city like birds of prey. On the ground, the cruel serpentine krait and subterranean dredge hunt for prey and terrorize its citizens. In one grim moment in the video, the famed nautical architecture of the city burns as innocents try to flee the devastation.

Lion’s Arch is a thriving city familiar to any Guild Wars 2 player, home to in-game traders and vendors as well as the asura gates that lead to the far corners of Tyria and beyond. The city has served as the focus for in-game holidays and events including Halloween and Wintersday, and has been featured extensively in living world releases such as “Sky Pirates of Tyria” and “Cutthroat Politics.” Lion’s Arch played an important part in the original Guild Wars, and is featured in the extension of the game lore in the novel “Sea of Sorrows” by Ree Soesbee. “Escape from Lion’s Arch” will be available to all Guild Wars 2 players on 18th February.

So, what do YOU want to know? Let us know in the comments and we’ll ask the best ones to the developers at ArenaNet!

Hi guys,

I'm following the LS now since the beginning and I'm very curious! You did a great job so far.

My question is: Will the Tengu be a part of the new update? Will they advice or help the people of LA or do they just shut themself up behind the walls?

I don't want spoilers, but I'm very curious about them in the next update.

Thanks for your answer! :)

It's been stated previously that "expansion–level content" could be introduced as part of the LIving Story. Many people doubt that whether, given the amount of dev work required, it's actually feasible that we'd be introduced to new playable races or permanent zones in this way.

With the apparent destruction of Lion's Arch imminent, is there any chance that our Tengu neighbours to the West in the Dominion of Winds could be drawn into taking a more active role in the story? If not, is this level of speculation for future Living Story releases even remotely plausible?

I want to know what will happen to LA after the war, will it once again be our hanging spot or will the rebuilding take some time? I just cant imagine a holiday taking place anywhere else. Also how big of a roll is Ellen Kiel going to play in this whole thing?

Not that it matters - and I can't see why anyone would make three accounts to ask three questions when they could legitimately ask three questions using just one account.

Just seems odd to have three new members all sign up within minutes all to post on one thread, is all.

Edit - ah, I see there's four of them now.

@Late: Nothing odd about it - we had a retweet from the official Guild Wars 2 Twitter account inviting fans to submit questions, thus the influx of new accounts.

Ah! Makes sense.

Looking back at those posts it's clear they're written by different people - different writing styles and language skills etc.
I'm just paranoid ;)

Stop scaring new people away Late! :p

Thanks "dealspwnsucks".
Please give my best regards to your mother. I had a lovely evening with her last week; however I won't be sending her a card or a gift tomorrow (Valentine's Day).

And you have my congratulations on being the one to give GW2 a bad name.

That said, please do stick around, and offer your thoughts on the many other discussions on the site now that you've signed up. (Happy now, Matt? :p )

I'm disappointed in you, Late...

...You could at least send a card.

I'm a wrong 'un, and no mistake.
