Diablo III is £20 on PC, PS3 & Xbox 360 at Tesco Direct

Diablo III | Tesco PC / PS3 / Xbox 360 | £20.00
Price comparison | Diablo III Review

If you want to play Diablo III - on any of its three platforms - Tesco Direct has the cheapest price around (though tied with Amazon on PC). I'm not entirely convinced that the console version is a worthwhile buy if you haven't played Diablo II, and wish Blizzard had created a new console IP rather than ripping the final part of a trilogy out of its context, but there's no denying the fun a controller brings to the previously boring melee combat. Thanks to bargain76 @ HUKD!

The console version would never be the choice platform for single player. But with it being the same price and offering splitscreen multi-player mode local and online, it makes a difference. I get the guys round for Halo splitscreen local games. When playing Diablo type games, it's usually meet up online at home but different people have progressed to different stages, so it's seldom a 'together' thing. The console versions allow this, and that's the selling point.

On diablo 2 (and diablo 1!) I always kept several characters that I used when adventuring with certain mates online. The beauty of Diablo was that it always played completely differently with different characters and builds, so I didn't mind levelling 5 different characters (at different rates depending on who I was playing with).

This changed with Diablo 3. The game is completely soulless compared to its previous counterparts, and I could not even stomach finishing it the first time round. This was on console. I can't imagine it would be any better on PC, as it was not anything to do with the interface that bothered me, it was just the game just is not anywhere near as fun to play as the previous two.
