Diablo III is fast becoming the new Duke Nukem Forever. It's been eleven years since Diablo II's triumphant launch - and with constant delays to contend with, the fanbase is getting a little restless waiting for the sequel.
Luckily, during the recent Activision Investors Call, Blizzard co-founder Michael Morhaime stated that a public beta will be rolling out later this year. It's set for the third financial quarter, which by usual US standards, means some time this summer. Apparently development is going well and Blizzard are "working hard to release the game this year"... but "will not compromise the quality of the game to hit a launch window." Fingers crossed, but personally, I wouldn't be surprised to see Diablo 3 slip into 2012. We'll keep you posted. [CVG]
