Dim the DualShock 4 light bar & fire up the capture box with PS4 firmware update 1.70

Firmware Update, PS4, Sony

After a couple of weeks of anticipation, Sony has released the latest PS4 firmware update with some major new features.

Version 1.70 contains a new editing suite that lets you create and upload personalised clips, enables PSN pre-loads of digital games and improve Vita remote play. Youtubers will be thrilled that the HDCP encoding is no longer active, so capture boxes are fair game now. Matt has been doing cartwheels around the office all morning - he's surprisingly spry.

However, many gamers sick of seeing the Dualshock 4's light bar reflected in their televisions will be pleased to learn that it can now be dimmed to various brightness levels (obviously everyone's going to put it to 'low') at their earliest convenience. It's available to download now, alongside yet another Vita patch.

What new features do you want from the PlayStation 4?
