Bethesda Softworks' upcoming first-person action title Dishonored has been issued with a launch date, and is due to hit shelves in North America on October 9th, in Australia on October 11th and here in Europe on October 12th, 2012.

Set in the steampunk-esque industrial whaling city of Dunwall, the player takes on the role of Corvo, a royal bodyguard, who now finds himself framed for the murder of his Empress. Imbued with dark powers, as well as a supreme talent for shadowy assassination, it's up to the player to uncover the real murderer, bring them to justice and exact a spot of revenge on the way.

“We are pleased that Dishonored has captured people’s attention,” said Vlatko Andonov, president of Bethesda Softworks. “We are looking forward to sharing lots more information about the game leading up to its launch in October, and having a hands-on build of Dishonored in our booth at E3!”

You can bet we'll be there, but in the meantime, check out our Dishonored preview from last year's Gamescom.
