If you haven't heard of Xona Games, you obviously haven't been paying close enough attention to the Indie scene. The Doucette brothers have been crafting some of the finest (and most insane) Xbox Live Indie shoot'em ups on the marketplace - and their latest title is set to bring the chaos to Xbox Live Arcade, Steam and the Playstation Network. Duality ZF, powered by their award winning Duality Engine, is on course to provide massive shooting thrills and obscene amounts of retinal stimulation... so if you think that your brain can handle it, we have the new trailer below.
Take your medicine.
Duality ZF is a 1-4 player bullet hell shooter that's based around the concept of "empowering the player." As such, collecting powerups and killing enemies will reward you with an insane amount of firepower, but you'll need every morsel of it as foes and incoming bullets assault you from all angles. In an interesting twist, Duality ZF will also support 'dual play,' which allows players to control two ships simultaneously.
The visuals and slick framerate come courtesy of the Duality Engine. The brutal and beautiful Score Rush is based on the same technology - and it was more than capable of guaranteeing their masterpiece a headline as one of our Indie Games Of The Week. The alpha build managed to win several awards (including Dream Build Play 2010 in many countries), and frankly, we can't wait to get a taste.
Duality ZF is set to release on PSN, XBLA and Steam, date TBA.
