EA Prepping Third Army Of Two?

Another Army of Two title is seemingly in the works, if a number of job postings on EA's recruitment site are to be believed. The publisher is looking for a senior producer and lead environmental artist to work "for the Army of Two franchise". The prospective employees would join the Visceral Games team in Montreal, Canada, and join in on delivering more co-operative shenanigans for Elliot Salem and Tyson Rios.

Personally, I don't think the previous Army of Two games quite got the rep they so deserve. Co-op is quick becoming a staple of any respectable shooter, but AoT is one of the only contenders to actually sculpt its gameplay for true co-operative elements rather than simply the function of having two player-controlled avatars in one game-space. We'll keep our eyes on this as it develops. [Eurogamer]

Army of Two was more enjoyable co-op, as it's meant to be played. But the AI partner in single-player is (especially in the second game) an unpredictable embarrassment of gaming development that was generally broken and caused more than a few restarts.

This is how it's gonna be Ao2:3, I'm going to give you shit every day. Get used to it.

And I'm going to sing its praises from the rooftops. Never had any trouble with the AI myself (and even got saved/revived a few times), but then again, it's always about the co-op. Which was mighty fine indeed.

This is going to be a fun few months. ;)

I have fond memories of gunning through the original with you. Never got around to playing the second game. Encountered one or two AI hiccups, but no more than that, and certainly never anything Natalya-esque. As Jon says, I actually found them to be far more useful than the usual muppets we get lumped with.

Played through the first one with my homeboy and what a joy it was...perfect for a Sat/Sun morning with a hangover after a heavy night a right laugh all round. Never played it solo tbh and dont think I could, but the co-op element on this is what co-op games should be!

I didn't realise that being able to virtually fist-bump my companion was something I needed in a co-op game until Ao2...and now I'm slightly disappointed any time I come across a co-op game in which I can't.

HA SNAP! Little things like that, the head banging and the air guitar made the co-op such a joy to play

To this day we still say 'props brah' in conversations

I found Army of Two: The 40th Day quite fun in co-op mode, there were some really good sections in it. And any game with additional fist-bumping and props is a winner in my book!
