EA Shutting Down SWTOR Asia-Pacific Servers

EA has announced that the Asia-Pacific servers for Star Wars: The Old Republic are to be shut down, and all players will be migrated over to the North America network.

"One common theme from suggestions, which we heard clearly, is that everyone wants the opportunity to play on higher populated servers," said a company rep [via CVG].

"With this in mind, we have evaluated all of the options and determined that the best solution, that will offer the best long term play experience, is to merge the APAC servers with higher populated North American servers."

The MMO turned free-to-play at the end of last year, and you read the final instalment of Carl's mammoth review here.
