- Enslaved: Odyssey to the West Review
All the marketing schtick for Enslaved focused so heavily upon the celebrity names attached to the project (Alex Garland and Andy Serkis) that they forgot to mention that, thanks in no small part to those two, it's actually a damn good game. The words "extended escort mission" probably strike fear, or at least misery, into the hearts of even the hardiest gamers but somehow the great narrative and the relationship that builds between the dual protagonists is more than enough to ensure that keeping your partner alive never feels like a chore. Sadly the wonderful story, vibrant graphics and lovely animation are let down by some technical errors, dull platforming sections that feel a tad pointless and a general lack of polish. But at just over £20 this is a real steal for those who like their games to feature a surfeit of heart over brawn.
