American retail giant Walmart has been taking pre-orders for Sony and Naughty Dog's upcoming post-apocalyptic, brutal, action title - The Last of Us - with an eye towards a Spring 2013 release window.
This sort of thing tends to happen a fair bit, which is pretty unhelpful really, considering that release dates are more flighty than craven antelope, but interestingly Sony have moved rather swiftly to squash the rumours.
A photo was sent over to IGN by a sluething reader, revealing that Walmart's pre-order card stated ‘Spring 2013′ as the game’s release window. However, Sony have issued a response to the site, saying "We haven’t announced any release date. Walmart is speculating.”
Unless of course there's a release announcement being prepped for Friday's VGAs, and it got a little leaky.
