Codemasters has formally announced F1 2012: the latest licensed racing game in their critically-acclaimed series. They've locked it down for a September launch, promising "new features" such as a Young Drivers Test Mode and technical enhancements across the board.
Though details are fairly thin on the ground, F1 2012 will include "new features, wide-ranging technical and gameplay advancements and extensive competitive and co-operative multiplayer components," along with a new gameplay mode designed for new players. Young Drivers Test Mode is inspired by the real-life programme designed to ease new drivers into the sport, essentially acting as a fully immersive tutorial experienced through the eyes of an up-and-coming racer.
The new Austin and Hockenheim tracks will also make an appearance.
F1 2012 is set for a September release on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, and more details will be forthcoming throughout the year. For now, here's a trailer featuring live interviews with future drivers.
