Xbox One RPG Could Last For Years
Fable Legends is apparently going to be a future-proofed RPG, with story content rolled out over the years after the Xbox One exclusive launches. We're not sure whether to fist-pump or facepalm just yet, but we've got the all-important quotes below.
“The storyline is absolutely there and very important,” game director David Eckelberry told IGN. “Of course there’s a higher purpose with a broad storyline that combines the various quests. But we tell new stories all the time. That’s the beauty of episodic content.
“We don’t want Fable Legends to stop when you finish the game. You should think about seasons and episodes. Fable Legends might just be Season One and we can add new quests and stories in the future, in the form of DLC for example.”
The UE4-powered RPG is out next year, set during Albion's golden age of heroes. We hope that it will at least make a token effort to tell and decent story and include some inoffensive voice acting this time around. And, you know, actually tell a completed story rather than making us shell out for it in fits and spurts.
The last time we were promised something like this was Halo 4's Spartan Ops campaign. Where is Season Two exactly, 343i?
