Nintendo have unveiled three new characters who'll be starring in Super Smash Bros for Wii U and 3DS later this year.
In a stream on the game's official website, it was announced that Lucina and Robin from Fire Emblem: Awakening will be taking up arms, alongside returning fan-favourite and series stalwart, Captain Falcon.
Robin is the canonical name for the central protagonist in Fire Emblem: Awakening, and players will be able to choose between male and female versions of the character in Smash Bros. Fire Emblem's Chrom also made an appearance in the new trailer, but he seems to be an assist character or perhaps an alternate rather than a playable character.
As for the owner of the Blue Falcon, he's appeared in every Smash Bros game to date, and it's good to have him back. He's one of my favourites. Sakurai and his team have been rather anti-clones when it's come to assembling the roster for the upcoming game, so it seems doubtful that Ganondorf will get a look in now. The roster currently stands at 36 playable characters, with Lucina, Robin, and the Captain joining the recently unveiled Mii Brawlers, Palutena, and Pac-man.
