Fallout 3 is slowly slipping in price but it's still rare to find it for under fifteen quid. Shop To are currently offering the game for £14.98 but they're out of stock at the moment, so I'm pleased to tell you that as part of their recent sale, Zavvi are currently offering Bethesda's latest at just £12.95. You'll have to be quick though if you want to snap it up at this price; it's part of Zavvi's Mega Monday deal and so the price will change back pretty swiftly.
You may be wracked with indecision when it comes to the question of “Fallout 3 – to buy or not to buy?” The game seems to attract an absurd range of opinions from “it's genius!” to “it's awful!” but the only way to find out is to try it for yourself. True you may fall into the latter Grinch camp but I think there's a far greater chance that you will love this unique and special game.
I mentioned the myriad technical problems that mar the PS3 version of FO3 in my previous post. Other complaints centre around the unsatisfactory ending, hard level scaling and, at times, dodgy AI. These are all irritating and can distract and frustrate but ultimately do not detract from the great things that this game has to offer. A vast world where your actions have real and lasting consequences makes for a fascinating and enticing game that will steal away hours of your time without you even realising.
Like Oblivion before it, Fall out 3 offers a storyline that you can follow rigidly and enjoy but, more importantly, it also gives you a whole world to explore and that's got to be worth taking a chance on.
