Of all Kinect's launch titles, I admit I was most intrigued by Kinectimals. Leaping hurdles, running sprints, ducking under inexplicable obstacles; I'm not interested. Rearing - yes, rearing - a tiger cub who'll love and adore me despite my multitude of aesthetic defects? Now we're talking! If, like me, you're a confused adult man-child, or maybe you're actually of an appropriate age, you'll be pleased to hear that Microsoft has dropped a demo for Kinectimals onto LIVE, to better make a purchase decision.
Weighing in at 1.52 GB, the description is pretty vague at the moment, preferring to wear its heart on its slave with the statement "Play This Demo". However, we do know Kinectimals is a big cat take on the likes of Nintendogs, where you raise a little tiger, lion, panther or whatever else, playing games like fetch and swinging rope - which somehow doesn't provoke mauling of the owner - and tickling it under the ears. That's right. Forget full-body motion sensing providing a new take on how to control games. Let's tickle a tiger's ear! [Xbox LIVE]
