FIFA 14: Bale To Remain Cover Star Despite Switch To Real Madrid

EA Sports have announced that Gareth Bale will still be adorning the front cover of the upcoming FIFA 14 in spite of his recent high-profile move to Real Madris from Spurs.

Given how football mad this country is, not to mention the ubiquity of the Premier League, it's no surprise that EA Sports like having Premier League stars on the front of their footballing franchise. Originally, the deal was struck between the publisher, Bale's management, and Tottenham Hotspur, so there had been talk of a change in personnel for the front cover given the recent transfer.

However, this will not be the case.

"Gareth Bale remains the FIFA 14 UK cover star alongside Lionel Messi," said an EA spokesperson. "In light of his recent transfer we are working closely with his management and we will have an update soon." [MCV]

Maybe they could ship all copies with lenticular sleeves, so that his kit changes depending on which angle you hold it at.:D

Yes the most talked about footballer in the world at the moment. I'm certain having him on the cover will be terrible since he now plays for Real Madrid.

This deal was all agreed at the end of last season. Real always do this. So that everyone talks about them all summer then it "goes through at the last minute".

Everyone involved has know about this for at least 2 months.
