Final Fantasy VII Remake a Distinct Possibility

From Final Fantasy VII Remake Rumours To Microsoft Controversy: News Roundup August 27th

As Final Fantasy VII grows older and older, the demand for a remake becomes stronger and stronger.  Square Enix has frequently denied that a remake is in their plans, but this still hasn’t stopped fans pestering until it actually happens.  Rumours and speculation initially surfaced when Square decided to show off the PS3’s graphics, using a remade scene from Final Fantasy VII.  Square’s most recent denial comes from Square Enix producer Yoshinori Kitase and Motomu Toriyama, communicated through a translator.

There's no official project that's up and running for a remake of Final Fantasy VII at this point. Both Toriyama-san and Kitase-san were involved in the development of the game, however, and it holds a special place in their hearts. They do talk about it on a personal level, like, 'If we did it, it would be like this or like that.”  This latest tease gives fans hope that a remake isn’t outside the realms of possibility, so until Square reveal more they recommend you download the original on the PlayStation Network to keep yourself busy.  [VG247]

Microsoft Apologise For Editing Black Man’s appearance

From Final Fantasy VII Remake Rumours To Microsoft Controversy: News Roundup August 27th

Microsoft landed in hot soup when it was discovered an advertisement on Microsoft’s Business Productivity website for IT tools was clearly a victim of Photoshop.  The advertisement originally portrayed a meeting between an Asian man, a black man and a white woman.

Unfortunately the advertisement intended for the Polish market changed the blacks mans face into a white one, but carelessly the black man's hand was left untouched, making the edit rather obvious.  A Microsoft spokesperson announced “We are looking into the details of this situation.  We apologise and are in the process of pulling down the image”[GameZine]
