Did anyone else like Final Fantasy X?

curzonmike |  Aug. 8, 2011 at 17:19

I finally got around to playing FFX and I really liked it. Sure Tidus was an annoying little twerp at times, but I thought it was really good, though some fans round the net seem to hate it. What's up with that?

I thought it was brilliant! I enjoyed FFVIII the most, but X was excellent. I'm not sure whether others would agree, but I would be more inclined to buy the next Final Fantasy title if it went back to the turn based style of old. I really didn't enjoy XIII at all.

I loved it (and spent way too much time playing Blitzball). Didn't mind Tidus as a character - Wakka was bloody annoying, though.
Unfortunately I think I had a damaged disk or something - never did finish the game.

I actually quite liked FFX. Classic gameplay, Blitzball was awesome (even if I didn't understand it properly) and Auron was an utter badass! Loved the story too, and in spite of Tidus' questionable wardrobe, I didn't mind him at all...thought his bits with Yuna were really well done.

Was a big change from the previous titles, but I really enjoyed it, a huge game, lots of sidequests, think it still looks great today.

Absolutely agree.
I'd much rather play the likes of Breath Of Death VII (Indie game, costs 80msp) than Final Fantasy XIII.
Both of those games have the early FF games as their ancestors - but BoD VII is fun and FF XIII is beautiful.
Fun FTW.

FFX actually holds a special place in my gaming heart, and may well be my favourite of the series (VII and IX being in joint second.) In fact it was FFX that pushed my other half into the gaming domain. Sure, in hindsight it was pretty linear until you hit the Mi'ihen Highroad, but because there was plenty of items to find along the way I never felt like it was while playing. Also, I was awesome at Blitzball. The Luca Goers had nothing on my skills, yo.

I gave up on the series after XII, as I have yet to finish it. I've tried several times but I just can't do it thanks to an annoying plot and change to real time battles. It's for this reason I haven't even looked at XIII yet (and you can forget XIII-2.)

FFX was a very good game. Great to finally see an FF game with voices and as it was the first on the PS2 it looked the biz. Still looks good now. Decent storyline, decent characters, unique and decent levelling up system, and it still had the proper turn based action instead of the new crap they've introduced in XII and XIII.

FFVII still tops the whole series but VII through to X were all very playable! I never did actually complete FFVIII because I couldn't figure out the castle. I'm so going to have to complete that now. By the way I have both of those on PC so graphics enhancements abound :)

Glad to see it get some love. Some real haters out there...just finished it yesterday and it might be my favourite of the lot.

...after VIII of course ;-)
